gates of Britain's military nerve centre (and NATO
Regional Command)

WHAT IF THEY'D BEEN BRITISH?
On 6 July 2008 forty-seven Afghan civilians =96 including over 37 children =
=96
were killed when a US war plane bombed a wedding procession in eastern
Afghanistan. Thousands more have been killed by US/NATO forces since the 20=
01
invasion.

Between 2 - 5 April 2009 NATO will be celebrating its 60th anniversary with=
 a
meeting in Strasbourg. Join us on Thursday 2 April for an act of nonviolent
civil disobedience at Britain's military nerve centre in Northwood, demandi=
ng
an end to the bombing and the withdrawal of all British troops from
Afghanistan.

3) 1-4 DEC, IPSWICH: TRIAL OF THE LAKENHEATH 8
Ipswich Crown Court, 1 Russell Rd, Ipswich, IP1 2AG

With expert witness Rae McGrath, Nobel Laureate and founder of the Mines
Advisory Group. On the 2nd October 2006, 8 people cut the fence ran into th=
e US
military base and locked themselves to the gate of the Special Munitions St=
ore
at RAF Lakenheath in order to stop the use of those weapons and in order to
secure evidence of war crimes. The eight were arrested were Section 128 of =
the
Serious Organised Crime and Police Act, and have also been charged with

A gathering of reflection and planning for a new anti-militarist movement.
Venue: The Societies Centre, 60 The Pleasance, Edinburgh. The gathering wil=

take a critical look at the current state of the anti-militarist/anti-war/p=

movement in the UK, celebrating the movement's successes and analysing its
shortcomings, as well as providing a forum to discuss how we can build an
anti-militarist movement capable of resisting and stopping current and futu=
